About Us

History

Potters Cross Playgroup was started over 40 years ago by Pat Chance and Janet Wright with approximately 18 children. The children enjoyed a happy relaxed session with crafts, toys, singing and stories. Pat was still running the group when Jackie joined the team in 1979.

Over my 33 years with the group I have witnessed many changes but the general ethos of the group is still the same. We have grown and matured into a strong setting with 54 children on role and an ‘Outstanding’ OFSTED category.

Children are welcomed into a happy, relaxed, stimulating group with adults to encourage and assist their individual interests and abilities. Heavy emphasis is put on social and emotional well being and communication during those early weeks.

Ethos

Potters Cross provides a welcoming, calm and stimulating environment for children where all are encouraged to meet their full potential. Parents, carers and grandparents are encouraged to join in the life of the group, contributing knowledge and life experiences of each child to give a full picture of their on-going development.

The staff work, closely with the parents and children to provide stimulating education and constant care. The team are experienced and constantly monitor progress, giving encouragement and guidance where needed. All children are individuals and our aim is to meet their needs.
