Plenty of fun for parents and carers too
Fuelled by the general natter at drop off/ pick up and ongoing events, we continuously witness the beginnings of great friendships and support groups between parents and carers.
There are lots of opportunities to get to know your fellow parents, including playgroup concerts, complimentary trips with the kids, the camaraderie of rummaging through bags at the jumble sales, social events, sports days and, of course, the parent-led committees of trustees and fundraisers. The fun is definitely not exclusive to the kids.
In and out and always ready for adventure
Based at the Methodist Church Hall in Kinver, South Staffordshire, we have a large indoor hall space perfect for physical activity whatever the weather, two learning rooms kitted out with age-appropriate play and learning materials and an outdoor play area.
We also love to go on mini adventures, including trips to the Rock Houses, our favourite playfield, visits to big school and frequently have visitors from fun, exciting and interesting establishments such as; the Fire Service, Police, RNLI and Vets. The visits definitely extend our topical approach to learning.
Experience like this is hard to find
We’re so proud of every one of our team and the dedication they each offer the setting. They’re fun loving, highly qualified and just adore their jobs, nurturing our playgroup and pre-schoolers the entire way. We operate with a high ratio of staff to children as emotional wellbeing is critical to us. The team are always on hand to chat about any concerns you might have or to tell you a tale about the day.
We’re also lucky to have a number of current and past parents who come in to run small group sessions with children including music, cooking skills, PE and art projects, as well as talks about their professions and family pets.
Life skills and learning about our world
The look of sheer joy on a child’s face when they learn a new skill is so rewarding. We aim to have our children leave us ready and prepared, armed with a kit bag of tools.
We encourage pouring of milk and serving of snacks, sharing, getting dressed for PE and promoting independence.
Fuelling the desire to learn is the really fun bit as we look to the world around us.
Discovering customs and cultures, understanding weather and seasons, celebrations, senses, and dipping into nature are just the start.
